Website Construction

Once you've approved your new Website design, The ArtD'partment uses that design as a basis to construct the interactive pages of your site. It's during the construction phase that other elements (such as basic Search Engine Optimization) are incorporated into your site as well. Finally, the site is uploaded to our test servers so that you can test and review everything before your site goes "live" on the Internet.

Site Maintenance

Once your site is up and running on the Internet, it's inevitable you'll want to make updates. We'd be happy to help! Usually, a simple email or phone call to us is all it takes, and most updates can be accomplished promptly.

Updating Your Own Site

If you have the desire and expertise to perform your own site updates, we'll be happy to give you the FTP access information you'll need. A Content Management System (CMS) also offers the ability to edit your website, but in a more restrictive environment.

There are, of course, other options for those who don't have the time to learn all they need to know, or who just want to add a few words of their own on occasion. For example, if you have a blog or a calendar you'd like incorporated onto your Website, we can embed them for you. Any updates you make to your blog or to your calendar will then automatically show on your Website.

Another simple tool we find many people enjoy is via Twitter and/or Facebook. We embed a feed (or feeds) on the home page so that your most recent postings will be seen by site visitors (these feeds also encourage visitors to follow your account).

Specialty Components

Animation

There are a variety of potential animation techniques we can use to enhance your site's appearance and/or functionality. Most animations (slideshows and the like) are easily accomplished via the addition of code that's compatible with all modern Web browsers.

Blog(s)

If you have things to say, announcements to make, or events to publicize on a regular basis, a blog could provide just what you need! We can set up a blog for you and then embed it on your website. You make whatever posts you wish; they'll show up automatically on your site.

Flash

Flash has traditionally been utilized for more complex animations. If there is a need for Flash animation on your Website, The ArtD'partment can help! We might also be able to suggest and implement alternatives to Flash that will consume less bandwidth and alleviate your visitors of any need for software updates.

One popular application: So-called "flipbooks." The conversion of a print document into a page-turning digital document could be the perfect way to display a multi-page brochure, annual report, or a company catalog on your site! Forms

There are several ways in which a form can be embedded into your Website ranging from downloadable files to interactive emailed forms. Depending on your individual needs, we can make recommendations and then implement the decision you make.

Shopping Cart

Yes, you can sell your product(s) on your new Website! We can integrate the appropriate shopping cart software into your site so you can get started with ecommerce. A simple example can be viewed on the FlexxPoint Gutter Covers website.

Social Media

If you already have various social media accounts (such as Facebook, Twitter, Pintrest, and so on), we'll establish links from your Website to your other accounts. Once your site is designed, we can provide matching graphics you can use to make your Facebook and Twitter pages match your new Website. We can even embed a Twitter or Facebook feed on any of your Web pages!
